Time waits for no one, and that’s particularly true for fans of Trading Card Games (or TCGs). The release schedule for fans of the Pokémon TCG always feels pretty busy, and it seems that, with just a few months between releases, players can barely have time to get used to a set before the next is released! However, as another famous saying goes, forewarned is forearmed, so let’s take a look at what’s in store for the Pokémon TCG in 2025.
Table of Contents
TogglePrismatic Evolutions – January 17th

Bringing cards from Japanese set Terastal Festival to the West, Prismatic Evolutions, along with its non-English language counterpart, features Eevee and all of the perennially popular Pokémon’s evolved forms (or “Eeveelutions“). Check out our Prismatic Evolutions card list for more insight as to what you’ll find, including more ACE Spec cards, and even more Tera Pokémon!
Journey Together – March 28th

Though it’ll be almost April by the time that the second set of 2025, Journey Together, will be released, there’s still a reasonable amount of insight into what it’ll feature. We know, for example, that it’s going to be mostly based on the Japanese set Battle Partners; this also means that we’re going to see the return of Owner’s Pokémon. Owner’s Pokémon have been trained by a specific owner, and as such they have specific abilities and stats which set them apart from other Pokémon. We’ll have more details, and a card list, as soon as they’re revealed!
Destined Rivals – May 2025
This far out, we know that the May 2025 set is likely to be comprised of cards from the smaller Japanese set, Heat Wave Arena, and will continue to bring more Owner’s Pokémon to the TCG. We also believe that it’ll contain cards from The Glory of Team Rocket too.
Untitled Eleventh Scarlet & Violet Set – September 2025

With Japanese set, The Glory of Team Rocket, due in April, we suspect that we’ll see its cards heading West in Destined Rivals; this far out, we don’t know much about what lies beyond that set, so we have no clues as to what the eleventh Scarlet & Violet set will contain. Of course, we shall update this article with further information as it’s revealed.
Untitled Twelfth Scarlet & Violet Set – November 2025
Finally, there’ll be a further Scarlet & Violet set to end the year, but we don’t even have any upcoming Japanese sets to clue us in on what this might contain. Naturally, we here at Card Gamer will be updating this very article with further news and reveals as they happen, so watch this space!
