Pokémon Black Bolt and White Flare: Japanese Card List (So Far)

A dual Pokémon set release is on the way, in the form of Black Bolt and White Flare. Let's take a look at the Japanese cards revealed so far.

The last few years have been heavy on nostalgia for Pokémon Trading Card Game (or TCG) fans, and that looks set to continue with the next Japanese set release. Or should that be sets, plural, because we’ve got a dual release on the way! That’s right, the sets Black Bolt and White Flare are releasing simultaneously, and between them will feature all of the Pokémon from the Unova region, which debuted in the Nintendo DS video games Pokémon Black and Pokémon White. Those games were released in Japan in 2010, making this set a 15th anniversary celebration of sorts. So let’s take a look at the cards that’ll be included in both of these sets!

Pokémon Black Bolt: Main Set Card Gallery

There are 86 cards in the main sets of both Pokémon Black Bolt and White Flare. Black Bolt cards can be identified with the sv11B set code (found in the bottom left of the card, next to each individual card’s set number). All of the cards for the Black Bolt main set can be seen below:

Pokémon Black Bolt: Main Set Card List

Of course, with the cards being in Japanese, it’s helpful to know exactly what they’re named; particularly if you don’t recognize them from their illustrations alone. Pokémon Black Bolt: Secret Rare Card Gallery

All Pokémon sets have a main set, which is what the set number on the card refers to (in this instance, there are 86 cards in the Black Bolt main set), but there are always alternate art and special foil treated variants which are numbered above the designated number of cards. Due to the fact that their numbering goes above the ‘official’ number of cards in the set, they’re known as Secret Rare cards. When Will Pokémon Black Bolt and White Flare Be Released?

The dual sets of Black Bolt and White Flare will be released in Japan on the 6th of June, 2025. As previously mentioned, they’re themed after the Pokémon Black and White video games, which were set in the Unova region; those games featured 156 Pokémon unique to the region. Excitingly for long term fans, Pokémon Black Bolt and White Flare are going to feature all 156 of the Unova Pokémon!

The Black Bolt and White Flare sets will launch in English (and other languages) on July 18th, and we’ll have details of the Western sets as soon as they’re revealed.
