Spring has sprung into high gear, and Flesh and Blood has done the same. History has once again been made in Flesh and Blood‘s growing competitive legacy. Not only is Pablo Pintor a master of the game, he’s also one of the best ambassadors the game has to offer. Flesh and Blood is a game of skill, so you’ll be able to expect reappearances of players in the top eight of high level events, but you won’t often see this. Every watch party, Discord chat, social media, and even a live crowd were alight in the moment of his victory.

An end to an epic weekend of the highest level of play the game has to offer.

World Tour: Auckland

Speaking of electric moments, a massive announcement was made for the upcoming Calling weekend in Flesh and Blood‘s homeland. Welcome to Rathe limited with a Day 2 booster draft featuring Alpha booster packs! But wait, there’s more! The weekend’s Battle Hardened will be Arcane Rising limited with first edition booster packs for the top eight draft.

You can expect to see some truly legendary cold foils for this event. If you’re the traveling type, this could be worth splurging on. If entrants purchase a Go Again or Fabled package before May 16th, they’re also entered into a drawing to tour Legend Story Studios while they’re there!

Keeping on the subject of high value cards on the horizon, High Seas will provide a new method of distributing priceless treasures to consumers: Treasure Packs. Each booster box of High Seas will contain a Treasure Pack, a three card pack of a set of forty-three cards, with one in every one thousand Treasure Packs containing a Lost Treasure. Not much is known about Lost Treasures yet, other than the fact that you can expect high rarity cold foils.

Oh, right, I guess you can also open one-of-one print cold foils of cards from James White’s own collection! You can preview some of the absolutely stunning pieces in this video, as well as listen to the big man himself talk about the priceless treasures. Check on your friends with maximum rarity decks, they’ll need your support as they learn about one-of-one English marvel prints of Welcome to Rathe heroes, and much more.

Something for Everyone

Now, if you don’t consider yourself someone too interested in the highest of the high end, there’s some fantastic products inbound for you and your colleagues, namely a whole slew of Armory Decks! Maxx ‘The Hype’ Nitro, Ira, Scarlet Revenger, and Gravy Bones, Shipwrecked Looter are all imminent. Legend Story Studios isn’t letting up on the gas while we’re in an extended cycle for the next draftable set. Soon will be a time when you can point a new player to an entire shelf of Armory Decks they can buy, ready for tournament play! New players will be spoiled for choice, getting to select a hero and class that resonates with their play style.

Another thrilling announcement was for a sealed deck product featuring heroes Prism, Sculptor of Arc Light and Viserai, Rune Blood. Notably, these are heroes that have reached Living Legend and are not legal for Classic Constructed, meaning they’re actively printing support for the thrilling Living Legend format! This will be one to stay tuned in for, especially if you and your friends haven’t played the format yet. It’s a real treat to play at the pinnacle of power inside Flesh and Blood‘s oldest cards with the synergies of new cards. This will debut at San Diego Comic Con, but will be stocked at your local game store afterward.

The Giant Blue Elephant in the Room

Rather, the giant blue dragon that claimed victory all Pro Tour: London weekend. Enigma, Ledger of Ancestry was not only the hero of choice for Pablo Pintor, but also for Emily Froese, who took down the Calling hosted in London that very weekend, securing the Mystic Illusionist 150 Living Legend points, and putting her at a comfortable eleven points away from rotating out of Classic Constructed. The Mystic Illusionist was joined by Zen, Tamer of Purpose in crossing the Living Legend threshold together this first weekend of Pro Quest: Singapore events happening around the world.

Players everywhere will be breathing a big sigh, either of mourning for the loss of their preferred hero, or relief as they get an extended break from Manifestation of Miragai pummeling them to death. Zen, Tamer of Purpose silently and unceremoniously found his way onto the next step of his journey in the world of Rathe is a fitting end for the Mystic Ninja. With Nuu, Alluring Desire racing her way up the Living Legend leaderboard behind them, it’s becoming apparent that Part the Mistveil as a set will be the shortest lived in the Classic Constructed format’s history.

Whether or not you’re happy to see the heroes of this set leave, it’s still worth a moment of empathy for such well loved characters living a short life in the format for players who found their love for a specific hero in these characters. For many, these heroes were the first evocative heroes since the Tales of Aria and Monarch heroes made their debut in the game.

Love them or hate them, these heroes were wonderful creations for evoking such diverse responses in people.
