Two of our younger trading card games (TCGs) have been hit with major shakeups in the last two days. Both Disney Lorcana and Star Wars Unlimited have made some major corrections to help their games have a healthier meta.
Let’s see which cards will be removed from competitive play for these games.

ToggleBans in Lorcana
Yesterday Ravensburger, the publisher of Disney Lorcana, announced two cards would be banned from competitive play in the Core Constructed format: Hiram Flaversham – Toymaker and Fortisphere.
According to the announcement:
While we appreciate the creative strategies players developed around these cards, the presence of Hiram Flaversham – Toymaker and Fortisphere ultimately detracted from the core principles of fun and balanced gameplay that we strive to maintain in Disney Lorcana.
Cards Suspended in Star Wars Unlimited
Meanwhile, in a galaxy far, far away (but still owned by Disney), Fantasy Flight Games, the publisher of Star Wars Unlimited, announced today the suspension of three cards from the Premier format: Triple Dark Raid, Jango Fett – Concealing the Conspiracy, and DJ – Blatant Thief.
According to their announcement:
…given the results from our inaugural Sector Qualifiers, the overall health of the metagame is in a worse state than where we left off in Twilight of the Republic. For this reason, we will be suspending multiple cards in the Premier format.
More to Come
Our dedicated Lorcana and Star Wars Unlimited writers will have more to say in the next couple of days with updates on these changes, and in-depth analysis of how they’ll affect their respective metas. So keep your eyes peeled for those articles here on Card Gamer.
