LEGO and trading card game fans alike may have a fun collectible opportunity fairly soon. LEGO IdeasLEGO‘s fan-driven set initiative, currently has a few fan creations floating around on its official website. Specifically, these ideas revolve around Magic: The Gathering and Yu-Gi-Oh!.

The Magic creations, in particular, have picked up traction in the past few months and could soon become official LEGO sets. What will come of this initiative? Let’s dive into that question and take a look!

Magic: The Gathering LEGO Ideas Sets

First off, let’s look at the LEGO Ideas sets proposed that revolve around Magic: The GatheringTwo Magic-focused kits are bouncing around the website at this time. One is a sort of catch-all look at iconic Magic creatures and what a typical spellcaster would look like in each of the game’s colors.

The other is based on Black Lotus, widely regarded as the most expensive card in the game that has more than just a limited selection of copies circulating. These two sets are extremely iconic in their own right and should ideally appeal to LEGO fans and Magic fans in equal measure.

At this time, the Black Lotus set has 3,797 shows of support out of 10,000 needed, with 247 days left to get to the latter number. The iconic Magic creatures set has 1,576 shows of support, but has 562 days left to reach that all-important 10,000.

Yu-Gi-Oh! LEGO Ideas Sets

Currently, there are also two sets on the LEGO Ideas website that revolve around Yu-Gi-Oh!. One is a collection of legendary iconic monsters from the first series of the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime alongside characters Yugi Moto and Seto Kaiba.

This set features such monsters as Dark Magician, Blue-Eyes White Dragon, and Exodia, the Forbidden One. It also includes Time Wizard, Kuriboh, and the visual representation of the Monster Reborn spell card. This kit isn’t quite doing as well as the Magic: The Gathering propositions. It has 525 shows of support out of 10,000 needed. However, with 246 days left to go, there’s still hope for it yet!

The other kit in the proposed series only contains Blue-Eyes White Dragon, albeit a different construction of the monster. However, as LEGO Ideas sets need at least 10,000 shows of support from fans, with a mere seventeen days to go and just 334 supporters at this time, this one might not make it to shelves.

Are You a LEGO Maniac?

We hope that some of these sets will make it to shelves, scalpers notwithstanding. The Magic: The Gathering ones look especially promising right now. How do you feel about these LEGO sets?
